With the first Transfer Pricing Training in Madrid in 2013, the annual training event at Rödl & Partner has established itself as a fixed component in the development of the practice group “Transfer Pricing”. Colleagues from different countries and offices joined forces to organise an annual event. The primary target group of the training is colleagues from the tax consulting business area who deal with the topic of transfer pricing on a daily basis. In addition to the intensive expert discussion, the event also offers the opportunity for exchange and networking across the company.

Due to ongoing travel restrictions, this year’s Transfer Pricing Training was held in an online format for the second year in a row. From 21-24 September 2021, we welcomed 96 participants from 26 countries in virtual rooms who benefited from the knowledge and experience of our in-house speakers from Germany and abroad.

Colleagues had the opportunity to register for the Basic or Advanced course based on the length of time they had been with the company and their level of experience and prior knowledge. The Basic course group had the opportunity to get to know each other better and network in a virtual meet & greet at the beginning. This was followed by the individual presentations on topics such as “Transfer Pricing General”, “Transfer Pricing Methods”, “Transfer Pricing Documentation” and “Hot Topics in Transfer Pricing”.

The participants in the Advanced course already knew each other from previous years’ training courses and joint mandate projects and got straight into the specialist topics. The focus of the presentations was mainly on the areas of “Transfer Pricing & Valuation”, “Transfer Pricing & Financing”, “Benchmark Adjustments” and “Avoidance and Elimination of Double Taxation”. Furthermore, small working groups discussed relevant core topics in so-called “Tax Talks” in order to gain insight into the respective other country’s perspective.

We would like to thank our colleagues Mariana Robles, Hans Röll and Stefan Bolwerk as well as our colleagues from Human Resources Development for making this year’s Transfer Pricing Training possible in digital format. We are already looking forward to the next event and to welcoming everyone again next year on site at the Nuremberg headquarters.
